Adventures in Tanzania

The roof of Africa, the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth and an island in the Indian Ocean — often in the same trip.

Tanzania

The big one

Tanzania has the highest mountain in Africa, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater and Zanzibar's beaches — and they are close enough together to combine in a fortnight. Most visitors fly into Kilimanjaro International (JRO); we meet you there.

Planning a Tanzania trip

What international visitors ask us

The practical detail, whichever continent you're flying from.

When to come

January–March and June–October are the dry seasons and the best Kilimanjaro windows. The Serengeti is rewarding year-round; the migration reaches the north around July–September.

Getting in

Most nationalities get a Tanzanian visa on arrival at JRO or online in advance. Yellow fever certificates are required if you're arriving from certain countries — we'll flag it in your quote.

Kili and a safari together

The most popular combination we run. Climb first while you're fresh, then spend three to eight days in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro to recover.
